My senior year math teacher, who also was my high school volleyball coach, inspired me to want to teach math. It wasn’t until my senior year of high school, though, that I decided that I wanted to teach high school math. My mom was an elementary school teacher and I have always loved working with kids. Did you see yourself working for a school when you were younger?Īs long as I can remember, I wanted to be a teacher.Since then I have also attended Olivet Nazarene University where I obtained a master’s degree in Educational Leadership degree, as well as, a second master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I attended Illinois State University for my undergrad degree. I worked at Central Campus for 16 years and have been at East Campus the past 3 years. I was hired as a brand new teacher and have been here since. This is my 19th year working at Lockport. How many years have you worked at Lockport?.I currently teach IM2 and Math 2 Plus but have also taught IM1 and IM1 Honors. I am a teacher in the mathematics department.
